Made the old way.
A downtown Dallas bakery, built on real ingredients, a handwritten list, and a dessert worth driving for, since 2014.

The baker behind the case.
Brittany graduated Summa Cum Laude from Johnson & Wales in Charlotte with a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts and Food Service Management, but she'd been decorating cakes long before that, for as long as she can remember.
She opened Cake Me Away in 2014 and has spent more than a decade building it into Gaston County's favorite spot for custom cakes, the bakery everyone calls when the cake actually has to be perfect.
Today the shop sits on West Trade Street in downtown Dallas, a few doors from Sammy's, with a bright case out front and a long custom-order book in the back.
A hundred and fifty things, made well.
Custom wedding, birthday, and specialty cakes are the heart of the shop, with sculpted 3D builds, hand-piped detail, and tiered showpieces. Alongside them, a daily case of cupcakes, cookies, cheesecakes, and bars.
Allergies and dietary needs are never an afterthought. Nut-free, gluten-friendly, dairy-free, vegan, and no-added-sugar options are part of how the kitchen runs.

Real ingredients
Real butter, real vanilla, fresh fruit, and fillings made from scratch. Never a box mix.
Decorated by hand
Every cake is designed with you and finished by hand. No two are ever quite the same.
